Dundarave village and beach
Dundarave is also a small neighborhood in affluent West Vancouver that comprises a couple of shops and restaurants, nice beaches with children’s play areas, and one of the best areas for walking in Metro Vancouver, the seawall that offers western ocean views and is connected to Ambleside.
Dundarave recreational activities
The best thing to do in Dundarave is walking with the stunning view of the ocean along the West Vancouver Seawall. It is a really nice place to walk your dog, but be careful because dogs are not allowed on the beaches, only on the sidewalks and green areas. The walk from Dundarave Beach up to John Lawson Park takes around one hour and it’s really worth it.
One of the best restaurants you can find around is the Beach House Restaurant at the waterfront in Dundarave. The restaurant offers a heated outdoor terrace with a view of the ocean and Dundarave Pier. For all those wine lovers, the Beach House restaurant has a list of over 100 wines to choose from. This restaurant is a great place to visit after a walk along the seawall, some fishing on the pier, after a day at the beach, or after enjoying a pool day at West Vancouver Aquatic Centre that has one of the best indoor swimming pools in the area.
There are some special events taking place in Dundarave that make it even better for moving in: fireworks. There are three special occasions when you can enjoy spectacular fireworks events: Honda Celebration of Light in English Bay in late July and beginning of August, Canada Day on July 1st at Dundarave Beach and downtown Vancouver and the Dundarave Festival of Lights, held in December every year.
Dundarave real estate market
Another great thing West Vancouver is well-known for is its real estate market. Dundarave neighborhood doesn’t make an exception on this one either. Due to its position close to the ocean, the boutique shopping you can easily access, the fabulous food you can eat and the amazing beaches it offers, the real estate prices can make people think it is a really expensive area.
Undoubtedly that Dundarave offers premium real estate properties, it’s not as pricy as other areas since it’s one of the most historical and most popular destinations you can find on the North Shore. An Sw townhome, however, can easily offer a 3 bed + family room.

Always keep in mind this: do not rush the decision of buying a house, especially if you plan on living in it for a long time. Check as many properties as you can. You can also hire a realtor to help you with your decision. The services offered by a realtor are free, as he gets his part of the money from the owner of the house. He can give you some tips and tricks on how to choose the best home that suits your needs.
A good realtor works with hundreds of people every month, so he obviously knows how to negotiate. You should always schedule a live view of the house before buying it, as sometimes it might not look the same as photos or videos. This is not an easy decision, so take your time and schedule a few more viewings of the property, as this will make the owner think that you really are interested in buying that property. It also reminds you of what you are going to buy.
The most important thing is obviously the price, so compare the prices and the facilities the house offers. Some of the real estate companies offer brokerage services to the “Account holders”, meaning clients and people interested in their real estate services. But that needs an actual real estate market research..
Being given the average price of a house at $3 million, the average price of a square feet is around $1.100. Realty prices in Dundarave are not actually that high, since some other related neighborhoods have a starting price for a square foot of about double that price, meaning $2000. It’s a pretty fair price, considering that Dundarave is really close to the ocean, has great views, a lot of places to visit and great restaurants.
Dundarave homes for sale
Most of the home buyers interested to move to this exclusive neighborhood of West Vancouver will check a series of specific details in a house for sale. You can search by keywords such as materials, house sales, family homes. You can also specify the street or the approximate location of your desired home.
The materials that are used to build the house, the number of beds, whether it has a garage, basement or a front or back yard, or a patio, it might influence the price and overall cost of house maintenance.
According to the latest standards, the dream home for most of the families must include an open space area, a swimming pool, a cozy place to make a fire, at least two bathrooms, and other facilities.
Another decisive factor is the location of the property. Of course, it is nice to live near the beach or being close to snow-capped mountains and West Vancouver can offer you both. Keep in mind that not only recreational activities are important, but also school and education. Dundarave has a wide range of schools you can choose from, so you don’t have to worry about that too much. Many real estate properties can be also found by the name of the school as a search criterion. Although, the MLS listings do not include too much information about the school apart from the way of access, but the listing agent should be able to give you more information.
Dundarave serves as a great shopping district. There are lots of shops and restaurants recently built by foreign and local investors. This way, you can easily avoid the fast-paced life of living in a big city and find a natural oasis in Dundarave, while still being able to shop in the big markets.
