Let’s analyze a little bit what were the average prices a month ago and how the prices have scaled over the years. The average price for a 1 story detached dwelling in February 2021 was $2.5 million, while for a 2 story detached dwelling was $3.73 million. A single-family detached dwelling had an average price in February of almost $3.5 million. The apartments were rarely listed, but they had an average price of $733.000.
Although specialists kept speculating that there will be a market crash sooner or later, it didn’t happen yet. The prices have dropped a bit, but they will probably register a correction and after that, they will start going up again. Vancouver is well known for its expensive real estate market, so there is no doubt the prices will start going up again. As for the detached dwellings, the average price in January 2018 was $3.54 million and also registered an all-time high of $3.74 million in June 2018. The prices kept dropping, registering an all-time low of $3.073 million in July 2019. Since January 2020 the prices started to go up again and right now the average price is at $3.5 million.
