The first stage is represented by the houses built before 1946 and the second stage consists of the detached dwellings owned by rich families built between 1981 and 1990 when the neighborhood started to become a bigger interest for the realtors and investors.
The need for construction for the second stage happened mainly due to the success of the middle-class families that realized the benefits of being close to the downtown core of Vancouver and the outlying bridges, while still maintaining a suburban neighborhood environment for its residents. In the last few years, the main focus was on both the low-rise and mid-rise buildings as well as the townhouse developments.
